First Congregational Church

Ye Olde First Parish

by
Bryan

The First Congregational Church was first built in 1767. It had a bell and weather vane made by Paul Revere on the steeple. The weather vane told people which way the wind was blowing. Because this building was so large and hard to heat in the winter it was torn down in 1840. A second church was built and then it burned down. Now there is a new church and it is very beautiful.
