The Castle Tucker House was designed by a Scottish architect named Robert Stuart. It is a replica of a manor in Dunbar, Scotland. Castle Tucker was built by Silas Lee in 1807. Mr. Lee contracted spotted fever. After he died the house went through many owners. One of the owners included the Honorable Franklin Clark, a member of the Thirtieth Congress.

In 1857, Richard Holbrook Tucker bought the house. He was a sea captain and a ship owner. He added the glass enclosed gallery to the east. The house has original furnishings and an eliptical staircase. The house is still owned by Captain Tucker's descendants.

Castle Tucker is a Victorian Museum which is open to visitors in the summer. It reminds its visitors of Wiscasset's last days as a very busy seaport. The Lee - Tucker house is known as Castle Tucker. Tucker's castle looks over the lovely Wiscasset Harbor. Many people are afraid to go by the castle at night because there have been many, many ghost stories told about it over the years.
