James
W. Gallagher, Mr. Gallagher is a native of Damariscotta, Maine, a graduate
of Lincoln Academy in Newcastle, Maine and MacMurry College, Jacksonville,
Illinois with a BA in English Literature. He took his Juris Doctor degree
from Washburn University, Topeka Kansas in 1976. Jim was admitted to the
Maine Bar in 1977 and the United States District Court for Maine in 1979.
From 1977 through 1979 Jim was Assistant District Attorney for the Sixth
Prosecutorial District. In 1979 he opened his practice in Damariscotta
and the firm of Gallagher and Stein was formed in 1986. He is a member
of the Municipal Law Section of the Maine Bar Association, and the American
Trial Lawyers Association.
Gordon
E. Stein is a native of Seattle,
Washington and a 1965 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the
University of Washington Law School where he received his Juris Doctor
degree. Mr. Stein is a trained Neutral, providing mediation and arbitration
services to other attorneys and their clients wishing to avoid the delays
and harshness of a Court trial.
In addition to an active general practice, Mr. Stein places emphasis on the areas of Litigation, Family Law and Social Security matters.
Mr. Stein is an active outdoorsman with
extensive experience in Sea kayak and hiking. He is married and has two
children. Mr Stein is a member of the Board of Directors of MOFGA, the
Rising Tide natural food store.
