OK - so I
learned how to make mp3 files stream to your audio player, but I didn't
implement it on the Blue Tarp web pages.
WHY NOT? First, a lot of the new browsers pick up on mp3 files and try to stream them anyway, making the point moot. Second, it represents another layer of work for me, and if I liked layers of work this would be the Mahogany Tableau studio or the Geo-Freakin-Desic Dome studio. Third, streaming audio is for high bandwidth users, unless they're deaf, and I'm situated in rural Maine ("The Way Life Should Be"). Between my telco and my ISP I'm lucky to post a half a text file, let alone stream audio. So, please, for the present time, bear with me until I make the improvements: Most people click the mp3 link and some automagic player comes up and tells them the file is missing, contains no data or is in bad taste. Let's hear it for automagic players. What you gotta do here is download the mp3 and THEN open it up with some mp3 player. Your operating system will know what to do. I'm an optimist. To download the file that you're interested in (and if you're dial-up, you'll want to be VERY interested) - RIGHT CLICK the link. You'll see something like: Now
for
gosh sakes hit Save Target As...If you've never done this before, don't get scared, it's easy. Next thing you're going to see is something like: ![]() But of course details will vary. If you want to get organized, make a folder using that little button that supposedly has the gloopy glint of "newness" there just right of upper center. Name the folder "something boring" and open it to save your blue tarp tunes inside. If you're on dial-up, do this a couple of times to start your collection and start a domestic project, like re-roofing the garage, and come back and check, repeat until complete. Then... Double-click the file and that should start the associated application, typically Windows Media Player. (Mac users, please disregard, you're probably not reading this anyway) If... Your computer gets confused, try, patiently, manually starting Media Player from your start button or whatever you like to call it, and pointing it to the stupid #@!&% file. If... None of this works, buy a guitar. |
I hope this helps you enjoy the Blue Tarp Studio web site. If you do not enjoy the Blue Tarp Studio web site, well, gee whiz. |
