In order to make sure that there is no
miscommunication between school and home there is a required parent
meeting. This is a critical component to the Outing Club adventure. We leave the
cars behind on this one. At our farthest point we are over six miles
away from a vehicle and at best 10 to 12 hours away from medical
care. In short, this trip is a big deal and parents must attend a
face-to-face meeting with the trip leader.

Rain date
- there is no chance for a rain date. If very poor weather is predicted, then the trip will be cancelled. Advice here is to save receipts if any gear was purchased.

shakedown
- Shakedown ahead of time to avoid problems.
Hikers will bring loaded pack with everything except food to
school on DATE TO BE
ANNOUNCED AT THE PARENT MEETING. This is an absolute must.....for
the sake of group safety.
- Teams will need to set up tent and show shared
equipment.
- Individual hikers will have personal gear
checked--communication home will occur following shakedown listing any gear issues
