Students in Grades K-5 have a regularly scheduled library class once a week. During class time students are introduced to specific library skills and different forms of literature. Students may also visit the library on an as needed basis to select books and materials for school assignments and their own personal reading.

There are great things happening at Nobleboro Central School Library. Here are a few highlights.

The Chickadee Award
The Chickadee Award is a new picture book award program for children in kindergarten through fourth grade.  This award will be given annually to one of ten picture books nominated by a committee of teachers and librarians.  In coordination with Skidompha Public Library, NCS is one of the selected pilot schools for this program.  Students will evaluate these 10 books during library classes and vote on one title in the spring.  This program is very similar to the Maine Student Book Award program targeted for students in grades 4-8.

Community Read Aloud
SUCCESS BY 6, in partnership with the United Way of Midcoast Maine, sponsors the annual Community Read Aloud on March 2. A volunteer from the community will visit classrooms to read a favorite story and to celebrate the anniversary of Dr. Seuss' birthday and Read Across America Day.

Roaring Resources and Bibliographic Format for Lions will connect you with informational resources for research projects.

The Book Den will connect you to web sites for award winning book titles.
