We have been studying about baby chicks. We have some chicks in our classroom. Chicks eat yellow meal and wee gravel stones.
In acopell ( a couple) of days they will hach. They can fly. They are only in eggs but they are 14 days old. They should live in farms.
We got our eggs from the Morris Farm. Try to keep the cats away from
chicks. Baby chicks develop in an egg for about three weeks.
What makes an egg grow in to an animal? An egg can not grow into an animal all by itself. After twenty one days the chicks hatch.
Today May 19 our first chick hatched. A chicken's eggs take three weeks to hatch. All breeds of chicken come from the same ancestor- the Wild Red jungle fowl. A hen lays eggs nearly everyday. Soon the chick can stand up and run around. It is not easy for the chick to get out. The yolk is food for the chicks.

Mrs. Schlein took this picture of our chickens.

I drew this picture with my friends Ethan and Katelynn.
