Salmon like the ocean when it is cold. Salmon leap up waterfalls. They turn side to side to make a nest. The male fish swims over the eggs and fertilizes them. They hatch in spring. After one or two years it is time to swim down the river into the ocean.

We got the information out of a really neat book called Fish by Althea. Nick and Chris like the picture where it shows them jumping up the stream or (river). Nick and Chris say the book Fish was their favorite!!
