Junk Food Jail

by Tyler C.

To find out if a food is a junk food you must look at the first two ingredients. If the first two ingredients are a fat or sugar, it is a junk food. The ingredients are listed in order from most to least. Even if the first thing is good, it can still be a junk food. Chips are a junk food because they are cooked in oil!

We set up a Junk Food Jail and looked at the ingredients. Here's how. Choose a food and look at the first 2 ingredients then decide if it's a junk food. Then send it to Junk Food Jail for breaking the fat or sugar limit! Then fill out a ticket and tape it onto the food so others know why it it was sent to Junk Food Jail.

Here is a list of sugars: sucrose, dextrose, honey, fructose, maltose, high fructose corn syrup, lactose, glucose, mollaser, corn syrup, corn sweetener, brown suger. Look for these on the ingredients label.
