Colonial Times Clothing

by Kristin and Andrew

The Colonial people wore clothing such as trousers, pants and shirts. The people had to make their own clothes. The children were dressed in fancy dresses, huge hats and furry coats or muffs. The people wore their best clothes only on Sunday. Often, little girls and boys would dress the same. The girls learned to sew at the age of four.
