Long ago people did not have a nice fancy oven. The people did not have electricity. They had a cook stove. They had to put wood in it to work. They liked cook stoves better than fireplaces because fireplaces let out heat. Cook stoves don't let heat out. The cook had a big stick to bring out the food so they didn't get burned. And that's how they lived.
