Neptune
by Sarah M.
On September 23, 1846 two scientists from Germany found a new
planet. They named it Neptune because it means Goddess of the Sea.
Neptune is the eighth planet in our Solar System and it is the second
farthest from our sun. It is 2,787,892,000 miles from the sun.
Neptune is very cold. It has gases. They are hydrogen, helium, and
methane and it has two moons. Neptune has four rings that are made
out of tiny dust particles. There is a huge storm on Neptune the size
of our Earth. Astronomers call this storm, The Great Dark Spot.
Neptune takes 165 earth years to go around the sun and that's all I
know about Neptune.

Neptune is 2,800,000,000, miles from the sun. The period of
rotation is 185 years. Neptune is a bluish grayish planet. It is a
flat planet. It has 8 moons. I think it is a pretty planet. It is
close to Uranus. My planet is the eighth planet in our Solar System.
Neptune has no water on it.
