Hi, my name is Mindy and I am learning about planets. Did you know that there are nine planets? There are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. Pluto has one moon. It takes 248 years to revolve around the sun. Pluto is the smallest planet. It would take 25 Plutos to make up the mass of the next smallest Mercury. It was discovered in 1930. Pluto began only as a faint star. Clyde Tombaugh recognized that it was a distant planet by its movement from night to night. Pluto has snow and warm areas. It is 3,700,000,000 miles from the sun.
