Arthur and Cricket the Two Arguing Birds

by Rachel A.

Hi my name is Cricket, I don't know why but my cage mate, Arthur, and I always fight. Here is my reproduction of one of my worst days with Arthur.

One day while Arthur was eating I got a feeling that I was hungry too,so I said "Hey, move out of my way Arthur I want some birdseed too.

Then Arthur Yelled back to me, "Oh shut up! And why don't you move out of my way so I can hang on that thing too." Arthur was starting to make me made so I decided that I would start to sass off to him. O.k. I said, I'll just go eat some birdseed since you're done making a mess of it and yourself."

Well I guess Arthur had had enough Because this was his reply , "Oh ruffle my feathers! I don't make half as much a mess as you do! Look at yourself, you're a pig!" Well, that was enough for me so I decided to tell him what I really was. "How dare you that is not true, I am a beautiful cockatiel. Would you stop moving that mirror, the reflection is shining in that poor girls eyes! Well right then Arthur thought that he had to get even and say that something was bothering him too so he said, "Would you stop swinging on that thing it's bothering me. After a long pause I wanted to see how much he liked me so I started to fake laugh "Ha. Ha. HA! HA! HA! HA!"

"Oh, what are you laughing about, Cricket?" He said.

"Oh nothing." I said back.

"Tell me." He was really getting aggravated now.

"I don't have to if I don't want to. I sassed back to him.

"Tell me now, or I'll tell Mrs. Thomson. Oh yea, he definitely sounded aggravated to me.

"Oh all right." I said. "Wh, wh, whoa! (I pretended to fall)

"Cricket? Cricket? Oh well you deserved it."

" Ha! I caught you!" I exclaimed. "I just pretended to fall, I didn't deserved it."

" Why you little... wait a minute why were you laughing anyway?"

"Ummmm." I tried to think of something quick. "I was just thinking of how you would look if you were squished by a giant," I blurted out.

"Hmm. something tells me that you were not thinking at all," said Arthur slyly. "Something tells me that you never ever think about me, because you are too busy thinking of yourself. Am I right?" Arthur said in a rather grim manner.

"No. You are not right at all, I...I...I think of you a lot," I blurted out.

"Really?" Arthur said. "Well, I think I think we should stop fighting and be friends." I think that Arthur was getting tired of fighting.

"Me too" I said and that's the way the day ends. So how do you like my story? A lot of fighting huh? Well that's the end no more to say except see ya!
