The Water Erosion Process

By Alex

When you do the water erosion project the first thing you do is you get a tin foil pan, some dirt, water, and a coffee can with holes in the bottom of it. First you put the dirt in the tin foil pan and make a hill on one side that slopes down. Then you smooth it all out. Next you fill a milk jug with the water and then you pour it into the coffee can. You watch the water pour down the hill and after all the water is gone, you try to figure out where the streams, rivers and the ocean is from all the water. After that you can dig down into the sand and see if there are any streams or rivers. We wanted to do something else with the sand and water so we dumped it into the bucket to see what would happen. It almost formed an ocean in the bucket.
