This interdisciplinary lesson has been developed to heighten the awareness of the benefits of rope jumping. This WebQuest lesson has been created as a final project in the course, Telecommunications K-12.
Specifically, this WebQuest is an opportunity for children to explore the topic of rope jumping while at the same time allowing the children to make strong connections within the curriculum areas of English and Language Arts, Health, Physical Education and Technology.
Your children will act as a jump rope enthusiast. Their job will be to research the benefits of rope jumping finding specific information concerning the numerous benefits. Students will need to complete reading activities and exploring. A note taking sheet containing eight reasons why rope jumping can be beneficial will be completed. This information will be helpful to the children as they create a pamphlet that will persuade others to participate in the sport of rope jumping. As a culmination, there will be an oral presentation to classmates. All facts included in the pamphlet need to be supported by the information that they have researched in this lesson.
