Learn Braille On-line http://www.shodor.org/braille/This Web site provides sighted teachers and teachers with visual impairments, parents, social workers, and others with an interest in braille with a series of three integrated online courses in braille and braille transcribing. The program is designed to offer the braille student the RIGHT INSTRUCTION (almost all aspects of braille) at the RIGHT TIME (self paced) in the RIGHT PLACE (home or workplace). By combining electronic technologies, quality materials, and expert instructors, the program has as its goal the provision of a complete braille instructional program to all types of consumers nationwide who have an interest in some or all aspects of braille codes. Currently the first course, Introduction to Braille, is available for use by students.
National Eye Institute (NEI) http://www.nei.nih.gov/The NEI is a component of the National Institutes of Health and focuses on disseminating information about vision and vision disorders. It provides information for researchers, health care professionals, patients, educators, and the media. The user can view brochures, research reports, and NEI publications. The NEI links to national organizations related to vision disorders. The user may also obtain answers to specific questions related to vision.
National Federation of the Blind (NFB) http://www.nfb.org/The National Federation of the Blind (NFB) was established by persons with blindness devoted to help other help themselves. The NFB site provides information about Braille, guide dogs, and technology. The user may access magazines, a newspaper, and NFB publications. The NFB site also provides information on diabetes and blindness. Another option is Services and Resources which provides information on deaf-blindness, the JOB (Job Opportunities for the Blind) program, and a library resource list.

The Blindness Resource Center provides the user with access to links related to Braille, deaf-blindness, hearing disorders, and eye diseases/conditions. Resource sites for blindness and general disabilities are also provided in the Blindness Resource Center. The user may access on-line information about blindness and visual impairments or obtain information on university programs and vendors devoted to visual impairments at the Blindness Resource Center.
