Tragedy for Hodding Carter and Lisa Lattes

We learned about the tragedy of Hodding Carter and Lisa Lattes, the people responsible for building a Viking ship after our teacher Mrs. Saufler brought in a article from the newspaper. The article said that when Mr. Carter and Mrs. Lattes came to Maine, Huck and Willa got loose and somebody shot them. The person who shot them said he mistook them for coyotes.He also said that they were threatening his livestock and his family. The labs looked nothing like coyotes. You could not mistake Huck and Willa for coyotes because Willa was all white with a brown spot on her and Huck was all black with a white spot on his chest.

Our class sent a letter to Mr. Carter and Mrs. Lattes about how sad we were. We also sent them the book Shiloh. It's a book about a dog from West Viginia.
